Nur is an Urdu word, meaning radiance. My fascination for Islamic architecture has been a persistent inspiration for my design projects. The lamp is a composition of block printing, patchwork and applique using organza fabric. Motifs are taken from structural components of Islamic architecture, like minarets, vaults and patterned windows.
Lighting is an essential component of interior design. It enhances the aesthetic appeal and illuminates the space providing a warm and comfortable environment. As said by Madonna Ciccone, "A new lamp, a piece of art, can transform a room."
